"A
Good Cigar Is A Smoke"
“If smoking is not allowed in heaven,
I shall not go.” – Mark Twain
“A woman is an occasional pleasure
but a cigar is always a smoke.” – Groucho Marx
“Ah, if only I had brought a cigar
with me! This would have established my identity.” – Charles
Dickens
“I drink a great deal. I sleep a
little, and I smoke cigar after cigar. That is why I am in
two-hundred-percent form.” – Winston Churchill
There is no rational way to explain a
love of cigars. It is a unique pleasure that some will discover and
embrace whilst leaving others in a state of wonder what the
attraction could possibly be.
This little page about the art and
passion of smoking a good cigar is meant to encourage a break from
the normal. A break from the routine of life in order to indulge what
is arguably one of life's true treasures.
My first loyalty to any cigar company was Thompson Cigar in Tampa. It was one of their famous catalogs that caught my eye. I would spend hours drooling over what set of sticks I was going to order next.
I stopped smoking cigars a few years back and have recently rediscovered the joys of relaxing with a good smoke. Naturally I went back to Thompson Cigar. Unfortunately, this has been short lived. For whatever reason, they only ship priority mail to Alaska (See my article on Alaska Shipping Woes) so any savings I was receiving on the cigars was eaten up by paying $10 - $22 per shipment.
Enter JR Cigars. I searched around and landed on JR and holy smokes I'm glad I did. Their selection is just as good as Thompson if not more so. Prices are nearly identical, too. What they do have is the JRPlus membership. $29.99 and whatever I order ships free. Gratis. No-Charge. Bupkiss. Done deal so now I buy all of my cigars at JR Cigar
If you think Thompson may work better for ya then here you go!
